Welcome, I’m Noela Souza, psychologist in Ibiza.
I help people who suffer from …
You worry, you ruminate, you anticipate everything bad that could happen to you, you get very anxious about regular, daily life situations,…
You no longer enjoy things, you lack energy, you have gloomy thoughts about yourself, your life or your future, you feel hopelessness, sadness, emptiness…
Relationship and communication issues
You find yourself in situations with conflicts, jealousy, controlling behaviour, hurtful comments… Or you find it difficult to engage in conversation or public speaking.
You find it hard to say «no» and to set limits, you feel insecure and inferior, you doubt yourself, you criticise yourself, you self-sabotage, you try too hard to please others….
Coping with health issues
The aftermath of an accident or living with an illness is undermining your wellbeing and mental health. You feel alone and misunderstood in your suffering and need help to cope.
You have lost something or someone important to you (a loved one, your partner, a child during or after pregnancy, your personal or professional environment, …). You are having a hard time integrating this loss and moving forward.
Impulse regulation issues
You behave in self-defeating ways, you find it hard to give up bad habits or acquire good habits, you feel guilty and frustrated about it, and you crave balance.
Coping with change
An important change in your life has shaken you up: divorce, getting a child, new country/culture, new job, … You find it difficult to cope with this change or to transition to a new period in your life.
Noela Souza, psychologist in Ibiza
I graduated in psychology in Spain. I then moved to Antwerp (Belgium), where I lived and worked for 19 years. For a while, I travelled all over the world and worked intensively with international teams and clients, until I decided to honor my original vocation and become a psychotherapist.
My therapeutic approach is goal-oriented and scientifically based, and yet there is room for warmth and humor, and for moments of sharing and support.
I’ve got a Master en Psicología General Sanitaria (Master’s degree in Health Psychology) and my therapeutic approach is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I also got trained in Brief Strategic Therapy, mindfulness and compassion, trauma and grief, affirmative psychology for LGBQ+, emotional regulation and social and communication skills, among others. You can find more details here (in Spanish).
I’m a member of the Colegio Oficial de Psicólogos de las Islas Baleares (col. nr. B-02805) and a member of the Association for Behavioral Contextual Science (ACBS). I work with my clients in Spanish, Catalan, English, Dutch or French and I offer both face-to-face and online sessions.
